Our worship is centred on the Eucharist, an encounter with God in word and in sacrament, celebrated in the inspiring 12-century surroundings of St Margaret’s Church, Crossgate.
Discover us within in the green space of St Margaret’s Churchyard, close to the river in the city centre, among the houses, shops and cafés of Crossgate by Framwellgate Bridge.

What our church history looks like
St Margaret’s Church, Durham dates back to around 1150, with parts of the original Norman building still standing today. Over the centuries, it was expanded and rebuilt, with additions in the 12th, 14th, and 15th centuries reflecting the growth of the community.
